Adelaide Fresh Fruiterers is a locally owned fruit and vegetable store proudly serving the Onkaparinga community. We're looking for an experienced Retail Assistant Team Leader to help lead our team and keep our store running smoothly.
Retail Assistant Team Leader
About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and can confidently step up when needed. You’ll work 25–30 hours per week across 5 days, including one weekend day, with shifts ranging from early 7am starts to 7pm closes.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervising and supporting staff
• Training and onboarding new team members
• Stepping in for the Team Manager during absences
• Enforcing uniform, presentation, and punctuality standards across the team
• Implementing store procedures and rolling out procedure updates
• Cash handling and point-of-sale operations
• Handling customer complaints and resolving issues professionally and promptly
• Maintaining visual merchandising standards and signage throughout the store
• Maintaining strong product knowledge of fresh fruit and vegetables, including seasonality and quality standards
• Contributing to a positive, customer-first culture on the floor
What We're Looking For
• Previous management or supervisory experience, ideally within retail or supermarket settings (essential)
• A genuine interest in fresh food and supporting the local community
• Confident, hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate a team
• Strong POS system knowledge
• Sound knowledge of fresh produce
• Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills
• Reliability and flexibility across early morning and evening shifts, including weekends
Bakery Assistant
About the Role
We're looking for a motivated and reliable Bakery Assistant to join our team. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll work alongside our bakers to help prepare fresh products while ensuring our bakery is clean, organised and running smoothly. No experience no problem. We'll provide full training for the right person. You’ll work 25 hours per week, including one weekend day, with shifts ranging from early 7am starts.

- Assist with baking and food preparation.
- Pack and label fresh bakery products.
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic workspace.
- Support the bakery team with day-to-day tasks.
- Help wherever needed to keep the bakery running efficiently.

- A great team player with good communication skills.
- Comfortable with early morning starts and working on your feet.

Deli Assistant
About the Role
We're looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Deli Assistant to join our team. This is a fast-paced, customer-focused role where you'll help prepare and present our delicious deli range while providing outstanding service. Every day is different, and you'll play an important part in creating a great shopping experience for our customers. No experience no problem. We'll provide full training for the right person. You’ll work 15-20 hours per week, including one weekend day, with shifts ranging from early 7am starts to 7pm closes.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve customers with friendly and efficient service.
- Slice, prepare and package deli products.
- Restock and present the deli displays.
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic work area.
